Credentials and practice

Dr. Shusterman is a board-certified urologist. Alongside his urological practice, he leads a network of New York medical practices and has founded and developed several health ventures — experience that informs both the clinical and the practical sides of building a longevity practice. Specific financial interests relevant to this site are disclosed clearly on the Disclosures page.

The practice philosophy

The philosophy is the one that runs through the book and through this entire site: be proactive, be integrated, be longitudinal — and above all, be honest. Honest about what the evidence supports. Honest about what a given intervention can and cannot do. Honest about what this medicine asks of a patient.

It is a philosophy that treats the patient as a partner rather than a recipient — someone equipped with real information and engaged in real decisions about their own health trajectory.

The author

Dr. Shusterman is the author of UroLongevity: What Comprehensive Longevity Medicine Offers, the 49-chapter work from which this practice and this website are derived. Writing it was, in effect, the act of setting down a complete and honest account of how this medicine should be practiced. Read more about the book ›
